Hello,

Just to let you all know what is going on. Bob had a PET scan on Tuesday 2/24 to see the progress of his cancer. The tumor on the right side of his throat is completely gone. Unfortunately, there is a new tumor on the left side. This one is in a lymph node, and is smaller than the other one was. The doctors have not told us what treatment they will do for this one. From what I know, he was given the max radiation treatment to that area. When they let us know, I will let you know. Please keep him in your prayers.

Love to all,
cassildra: A silver pegasus on a purple shield. (generic: ri-god-damn-diculous!)
Dad took rent money out of my account yesterday, which infuriated me, because I told him at the beginning of last month that I was moving out. He said he'd put it back since I called my mother to talk to her, but then, I got an email this morning...

I am glad you called yesterday. Your dad is on one of those kicks where everyone needs to call me every holiday. Don't ask me where he is coming from. He says he will put your money back when you come and get your stuff. You know if it were up to me, I would not care. We could box the stuff up and leave it in that room, but he is such an a_ _. I pray your new year will be the best one yet for you and Trevor too. He told me he would take care of you, and I believe he will. Have fun at your party tonight. I have 1 small box and 2 boxes paper comes in. Call and let me know when you are coming, I have some kraut & pork for you. Can't wait to see you on Tuesday!!

A conversation I just had with my boyfriend:

[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: I really am pretty certain that I won't see that money.
[livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin: Not even when we get your stuff out?
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: I never told you about the $2000, did I?
[livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin: No. No, you didn't.
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: Oh, yeah. When I first got disability, I got a little over $2k in back pay. I can't have that much money in an account, or else I lose the disability.
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: So I was stupid and trusting, and had Dad put the money into cashier's checks, and put them in his safe deposit box.
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: Fast forward to two years ago. I tell Dad I'm moving out, and ask for the money. He says that he'd used it for taxes after he'd asked me, and he gave me the impression that he'd never pay me back.
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: I may have said yes. I do have gaps in my memory.
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: I would have, however, made sure that he would have paid me back.
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: That's a lot of money I'll never see.
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: I've been trying to move out for at least two years, and he's always managed to block me before. I think that's why he's so angry, because he lost his "control" over me.
[livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin: How has he "blocked" you?
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: The first time he took the money that was mine, that I was relying on, to move to Virginia with a friend. Other times just fell through and/or he made me feel guilty for leaving Mom.
[livejournal.com profile] cassildra: He's mad that he's lost his little Cinderella.

And yes, once, while he was drunk and Mom dared to go off and have a good time with her sisters and not be miserable at home with him, he did tell me that I was his Cinderella.

It's been requested that I find something else to do, so I think today will be my re-entry into Milliways. I think I can channel Faye this afternoon, at least for a bit.

Thank you all. That's all I'll touch on in a public entry.

Last night was great--I watched [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin, [livejournal.com profile] psywildfire, and [livejournal.com profile] nerdboyhimself play Rock Band for a couple hours. I didn't sing 'cause my voice is still cutting out a bit, but I sang when I could. It was fun. After that, we played Ticket to Ride: Europe. I like that game a lot, and think I'm getting a hold of the strategy. I am very good at in-game cockblocks!

I refused to learn a new game, which, you know, makes sense considering what happened. Perhaps tonight or sometime tomorrow.

Called Mom, filled her in on what happened. Today's game plan is to go home and clean--[livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin is coming with me--and then I'm packing for a few days and staying here. Dad can fend for himself for a few days. I'm not his fucking maid.

Tomorrow is the meeting with [livejournal.com profile] valancy17 and [livejournal.com profile] chapelski at Tom's Diner @ noonish. [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin may or may not come, depending on the schedule for shooting some movie or whatever.

And... I'm out. I'll catch you all later.

I was doing so well at holding off depression over Dad's little snit this morning, and I just crashed. Also for the record? I hate when I can't put things into words. I do believe that this evening I will try to get incredibly inebriated and pray to whoever's out that that I need to be a happy drunk.

And that's that.

I declare today full of legendary fail. It is so full of fail that, in fact, I am considering creating a time machine to go back to yesterday and make things LESS full of fail for today.

I had a handwritten entry I was gonna post, but now I kind of don't care, so this is what you get.

In other news: Last night, [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin and [livejournal.com profile] nerdboyhimself had a tie in the game Power Grid. It was kind of amusing. I've also declared that I am the queen of green energy/clean coal.

And now, dishes and waiting to pop dinner in the oven. I have Sports Night so I won't kill anyone... I think.

I'm hanging at [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin's again today. We've got D&D tonight, and I cannot wait to play my Starlock. I love her so much; she's terribly bitchy and basically Jenette in mood. ...err, okay, she's a hell of a lot less slutty, but that isn't hard.

Note to self: Make power cards before the game.

We're also going to be going out for lunch as soon as the Chinese place he wants to take me to opens up. He also mentioned Pamela's for breakfast, but I think that might be the weekend after next instead.

Last night I played Monty Python Fluxx at [livejournal.com profile] fiannaharpar and [livejournal.com profile] lrstrobel's. Oh man, that game is pretty amazing. I really liked it. We also played Ticket to Ride: Europe. It was really enjoyable! I also don't suck as hard as I thought when it comes to strategy games.

Speaking of Monty Python Fluxx... [livejournal.com profile] lstrobel decided that she wanted to play with us. Keep in mind that she is only five--a very precocious five, but five, nonetheless. Her dad was helping her, and she didn't do too badly at all, but since Murphy's Law is always in effect (and I don't mean the cat that's sitting next to me!), she drew the Nude Organist card. As soon as she got up to do... something... her dad switched the card out for a different Keeper. It was amusing.

And, of course, she has designs on [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin. She says she will marry him. (Forget the fact that she's FIRMLY in his creepy zone...) Watching those two together warms my heart. [livejournal.com profile] lstrobel is so damn cute, and snarks on a 4th grade level. I really do think that I'm blessed for knowing her--she brings so much joy into everyone's life. What a ray of sunshine.

Of course, she's also really good at breaking my brain without realizing it. What she says is meant totally innocently, but oh my God the innuendo! The jokes were flying last night about how, you know, since [livejournal.com profile] lstrobel is going to marry [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin, it's a hell of a good thing that he and I are poly. (Okay, I'm just exploring the lifestyle, but that's a technicality. :P)

i got my hair cut yesterday. It's very cute, and as soon as I can steal someone's camera/get a decent pic with the camera phone, I will post pictures. I also got my ID card renewed! Can get booze without a hassle! (Because, you know, I'm such a drinker that I let my ID lapse for a year and a half). The picture turned out really cute.

KoLumbus is next week! The Buckeyes have an away game! Come hell or high water, I will meet [livejournal.com profile] typozilla and [livejournal.com profile] trioxinaddict. We will go drinking, and I will return to the hotel utterly smashed. (Well, as smashed as I get, which isn't much. No blackouts for this little black duck!)

I have slowly been adding everyone I've met over the past week. I'll probably freak out and start thinking that they're only tolerating me because I'm dating [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin--the joys of low self-esteem yay!--but for now, I will try really hard to keep from thinking that.

Holy shit it got cold. Two days ago I could walk outside barefoot, and now I need a jacket and gloves. I should grab my fingerless gloves and toss them in my purse, considering how cold my hands get. I'll be okay until I remember to do so, I'm sure.

I'm trying to be interesting and funny when I write these blogs, but I'm also firmly aware that I have New Boyfriend Syndrome and that not everyone is as amused by it as I am. I swear it will eventually get toned down someday probably!

[livejournal.com profile] chapelski, I'm sorry I bailed yesterday. I had to get the hell out of the house for the rest of the weekend because Dad was in a Mood. I owe you tarot lessons as soon as I get back from KoLumbus--it looks like the 20th is open. That's a Thursday. Is anyone else interested in meeting up and playing with tarot decks? I know a bit, but more experience is always appreciated. (Granted, that's saying that we can find somewhere that's accessible and that [livejournal.com profile] chapelski wants to! I don't want to make firm plans without her input.) I was going to suggest we just go to Evergreen this week, but lol, I'll be in Columbus by then. I'm leaving at noon Thursday, and coming back mid-afternoon Sunday. ...Shit, I hope that Mom managed to make a dent in the laundry. >>

My hands are far too cold for me to ramble anymore. <3

Sorry about that friends-locked post. I have removed the deadwood; things will be much better now, I believe.

So last night was my first Evergreen meeting. I liked it! (For... most of you, who aren't aware of what Evergreen is, it's a twice-monthly meeting to discuss Paganism in its various forms.) Unfortunately, [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin and I were tired and frustrated from having bad days, so he had a hard time staying awake, whereas my mind just started to wander.

Speaking of wandering, we got up during the meeting and wandered over to the Religion/Spirituality section--whatever it's termed now--so I could look for something that might help Dad out right now. I didn't find anything, but I did find what is arguably the best tarot deck ever. I dropped $20 I didn't have on it, because, come on. Lovecraft + tarot = SQUEEEEEE.

After the group got kicked out of Borders, a good number of us headed to TGI Friday's. I wasn't particularly hungry, so [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin and I ordered a couple of appetizers. My love for Friday's spinach dip was reaffirmed, and the fried ravioli bites were amazing. I also got a glass of Chateau Ste. Marie Riesling, which, while not as good as the (really fucking expensive) Tapestry Riesling [livejournal.com profile] rivetkitten bought me at KoLumbus last year, it's certainly an acceptable, affordable substitute.

Since I've been waking up so early, I've found my love of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I actually think I have a couple of the characters statted out in the Storytell(er? ing? The nWoD) system. A link to the various characters I've statted. As an aside, I really need to tweak V somehow so that he's less... um... weirdly written out. There are probably some merits I could use instead of the ghoul/vampire discipline Celerity. Fleet of Foot doesn't quite cover it, imho.

Anyway, I've got a new deck to play with. It's definitely not one to use when you want happy shiny readings, but I have the Legend: Arthurian Tarot deck for that.

So I am apparently Not Up to going to either party tonight, which is fine. What's not fine is that Dad's pissy over stupid things--I honestly have no idea what--and the fact that Mom has a migraine and won't take another Imitrex is worrying. I'm going out tomorrow though, unless of course I end up waking up with a migraine...

I have also stolen an old meme from... a good few of you, actually. meme )

And a conversation with my sister in law about Sarah Palin...

I used lienne as the Canadian mentioned in the post, for the record )

Yesterday was weird as hell. The high was only 44 degrees Fahrenheit, and for a while, there was actually snow on the ground. Snow! In freaking October! What the fuck, Ma Nature?! Are you going to be cranky like this all winter? Today's high is going to be 51, and tomorrow's is going to be 64. ...I don't understand. The dog and I went out yesterday during the snow shower, and he came back in coated in the white stuff. He looked like it was mid-January. Gah.

I'm just hoping that the pressure fluxes don't screw me over with a migraine. I really want to go to the two parties I've got planned. [livejournal.com profile] bluemoon_991 made me a fabulous Flying Spaghetti Monster costume (I promise pictures!), and while the costume's great, I'm not dressing up in it twice. I have a Sekrit Plan for the party on Saturday--my costume is going to cause lulz. At least, I hope. I'm sure someone who will be there will know what I'm trying to pull off.

Dad starts chemo today. It's going to be interesting for the next six to eight weeks. I'm apologizing in advance for any crankiness or shortness that occurs. If I get like that, just tell me to shut up and make a cup of tea. ♥ I love tea, and it makes me feel better.

Okay. I need to go find television that isn't Full House.

ETA: Does anyone else find this hilariously ironic? Praying to golden statues FOR THE FUCKING LULZ.
